The simple answer for how to become a YouTuber is to just start making videos.

Yes, it does get more complex than that, but if you spend too much time worrying about what you are going to say or how you are going to look, or if you have the right lighting or camera in the beginning, then you are never going to get started. And you need to get started.

Yes, your first video is going to be terrible. Here’s a short clip from my first video. It’s terrible. I was using the webcam on my laptop, and a $40 microphone.

But I just kept making them, and learning, and leveling up as I went. All the biggest youtubers say the same thing. Mr.Beast is the biggest youtuber on the internet, he makes millions of dollars per month from youtube, and his first video was bad too. But he just kept making them consistently every week. Until they got better.

You just have to start.

The very first step in becoming a successful YouTuber is picking a niche to create videos around. You have to have a vibe, a brand. You can’t just make videos about cars one day and cats the next. Otherwise, youtube won’t know who to show your videos to, and they won’t get seen. So before you make videos, spend some time on picking and planning what you are going to make videos about.

To do this, you need to know the value that you’re bringing to other people. Are you helping people in some way by creating these videos? Or entertaining them at the very least? Are you an expert at something and you want to share your knowledge?

Which leads right into the fact that it’s important to know why you want to be a YouTuber. Why are you  putting out content in the first place? What is the purpose of each video that you’re uploading? Is it to provide value to other people? Are you an expert at something that you want to share? Are you trying to entertain people?

The Why is going to help you make difficult decisions throughout your journey. And it’s going to make your videos more authentic. Think about the type of videos you like to watch. When you can relate to someone because they are being authentic and real, it makes you want to watch that person more, right?

When you know what it is that you’re trying to achieve, you can consistently make content that you like making and they like watching.

Another thing that you’re going to want to do if you are serious about becoming a YouTuber is you’re gonna want to get your channel set up on the back end. It might not seem like it, but as a content creator, there’s a ton of stuff on the back end just in terms of setting your channel up properly. That becomes really important if you want to get your videos out in front of more people. You need to know how the platform itself works and the features that you have at your disposal. How to identify the people who are responding to your content. The more they respond, the more Youtube will show your videos to them, and the sooner you will go viral.

Which brings us to the next step as a YouTuber if you really want to make it on the platform. You need to make videos based on data, and less on emotion. When you are creating something, its hard not to feel emotional about it. Like, why did that video only get 100 views, is it because I suck?

And this is where most new youtubers give up. But if you can put your emotion aside and just keep making videos, and looking at what’s working, and make more videos.. then you will already be beating 99% of people, and you will be successful.

And don’t get me wrong here, you need to have emotion behind your videos. Because you want to make sure that you’re doing something you enjoy as well.

But if your getting insecure because you’re not a millionaire after one video, try not to do that.

Just focus on the data, learn from other youtubers, and make changes.

Another thing that’s extremely important if you want to be a YouTuber long term, is that it’s important that you also learn how to make money.

There are all kinds of ways to earn money on youtube once you have a nice following. Sponsorships, partnerships, shout outs, from ads, and from affiliate marketing.

The 2 main ways when you are just starting out is from ads, and from affiliate marketing. With ads, Youtube will pay you to let ads run during your videos. So this is completely passive income after you make the video. Anytime your video plays an ad on it, which happens automatically, you receive a small commission. Paid out once a month.

The second way is with affiliate marketing. Meaning, you can promote other products by placing a link in your description and getting a commission every time someone clicks the link and buys the product.

For example, if you click the link in my description, it will take you to a product that I promote. Which happens to be a complete course on Creating a youtube channel and building a high ticket affiliate marketing business from it. So basically its teaching you how to copy me. Because its exactly what I do to make passive income every day.
